Course Overview

  • This qualification is designed to give candidates the knowledge, skills and competencies to provide clinical supervision for counselling practitioners.  It is aimed at counsellors who have acquired sufficient client experience to contemplate the move into a clinical supervision role. ​

  • Candidates will need to:

1 - Self source at least 2 counsellors to supervise for the duration of the course​.​

2 - Self source supervision of your supervisory work for 1 hour per month with an experienced clinical supervisor

3 - Be working as a counsellor receiving monthly supervision

  • This qualification is designed to lead to a role as a clinical counselling supervisor in a counselling agency or in independent practice. Supervision is an ongoing professional requirement for all practising counsellors and those with a recognised qualification are more likely to find employment.

Entry requirements

​

  • You must have completed either the Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, Level 5 Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic Skills and Theory, Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People or their equivalent and at least one year's post-qualifying experience of supervised client work. 

  • Alternatively, you must have completed the Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling or its equivalent and have at least two years' post-qualifying experience of supervised client work.

  • You must have achieved 450 client hours

  • Be a member of a professional membership body BACP, NCPS, UKCP

  • Have current indemnity insurance and be in supervised practice of your counselling work

  • Be able to undertake a supervisory placement to obtain 20 hours of supervisory practice during the course

  • Days: Saturday and Sunday (1 weekend per month)

  • Times: 9.30-4.30pm

  • Tuition Fees: £2,295 in instalments or £2,195 (discounted by £100 if paid in full)

The fee can be paid in full or in instalments with a non-refundable £450 deposit paid to secure your place.  Course fee includes CPCAB registration fee of £386.

Option 1 - Pay in full £2,195

Option 2 - Pay £450 deposit then 2 instalments of £922.50

Option 3 - Pay £450 then 5 monthly instalments of £369

Course lead

The course is led by Emma Campolucci, qualified counsellor, supervisor and lecturer.  Emma has been lecturing for 8 years on CPCAB qualifications and brings a wealth of knowledge of counselling theory and practice. Emma has considerable experience of designing and delivering training courses for FE colleges, businesses in Reading and for counselling agencies. Emma is joined by Martin Fox as co-tutor, a supervisor with 20 years of supervisory experience and clinical lead of Connect Counselling.
